Ballindoolin House & Gardens, Edenderry, County Offaly offers the following products and/or services:
» A Day Out (1011)
»» LEINSTER (396)
»»» County Offaly (14)
»»» County Kildare (25)Ballindoolin was built in 1822 by Humphrey Bor. It sits on 130 acres of parkland and 120 acres of fine broad-leafed woodland, approximately 5 miles north of Edenderry.
The interior of the house is for the most part in an intact state, with all of its original plasterwork, joinery and fireplaces.
The furniture is the work of Mack, Williams and Gibton who were a successful and distinguished firm of Dublin Cabinet-makers in the early nineteenth century.
The Garden reflects the fashion of the 19th Century with a rockery, shrubbery, glasshouse, rose garden and massed carpet bedding which lent itself to the planting of parterres in a formal manner.
The woodlands surrounding Ballindoolin House are well established mature woods of mixed deciduous trees, the predominant species is beech but there are also oak, sycamore, horse chestnut, hornbeam, hazel, holly, and scots pine.
To really appreciate everything here could take quite a few hours.
