Walking Wicklow: From Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, Dublin to Clonegal, County Carlow

The Wicklow Way begins in Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, Dublin and takes you on a scenic route through Dublin and Wicklow ending in Clonegal County Carlow.

The Wicklow Way is approx 132km/82miles and is traditionally walked from north to south, though it can be walked in either direction. To complete this walk can take a week or more. The hardest part of the way is at the beginning through County Dublin into County Wicklow.

Highlights of the Wicklow Way include views of Ireland's highest waterfall at Powerscourt, the ancient monastic site of Glendalough and the valley of Glenmalure. If the whole walk seems a little daunting don't worry there are a number of smaller walks within The Wicklow Way.
Divided into 11 stages (www.visitwicklow.ie/attractions/wicklow_way.htm or www.wicklowway.com). Each stage involves about a half days walking. There are however numerous other trails you can take. See also www.coillteoutdoor.ie.

Ballycumber (near Ballinglen) to about 2 kms from Tinahely
Tinahely to Raheenakit
Raheenakit to Clonegal
